ভারতের আবহাওয়া বিভাগ (আইএমডি) দক্ষিণ-পূর্ব বঙ্গোপসাগরে 2023 সালের প্রথম ঘূর্ণিঝড়ের সম্ভাব্য গঠনের পূর্বাভাস দিয়েছে, আসন্ন ঝড়ের ফলে উদ্ভূত যেকোনো পরিস্থিতি মোকাবেলা করার জন্য প্রস্তুতি পুরোদমে চলছে। আইএমডির পূর্বাভাস অনুসারে, 6 মে 2023 সালের দিকে দক্ষিণ-পূর্ব বঙ্গোপসাগরে একটি ঘূর্ণিঝড় সঞ্চালন হতে পারে।

7 মে এর প্রভাবে একই এলাকায় একটি নিম্নচাপ এলাকা গড়ে উঠতে পারে। 8 মে, এটি সম্ভবত দক্ষিণ পূর্ব বঙ্গোপসাগরে একটি নিম্নচাপে একত্রিত হতে চলেছে। এরপর এটি একটি ঘূর্ণিঝড়ে পরিণত হয়ে প্রায় উত্তর দিকে মধ্য বঙ্গোপসাগরের দিকে অগ্রসর হতে পারে বলে ধারণা করা হচ্ছে।
